Preparing for your visit

We are entirely baby focused. Other than your baby’s basic need and both parents and baby are healthy, we have compiled top 10 things you will need to know so that you and your baby will derive maximum benefit from your visit. You may also visit our facilities page to view what is being provided by our centre.

Preparing For Your Visit - 10 GUIDES FOR PARENTS

  1. Your baby should be well fed and rested 30 minutes prior to treatment. Please be mindful when making your appointment that you choose a time when your baby has been well fed and napped, at least 30 minutes prior to treatment.  For babies younger than 6 months, please make sure not to feed them anything 30 minutes prior to their appointment in order to prevent possible regurgitation of milk.

  2. Dressed for comfort as you will be leaning over a tub playing with your water baby and sitting on the mat while giving your baby a massage. Come as you are! Parents are required to stay, be involved and watch for the duration of treatment.

  3. We encourage you to bring your spouse, a family member, or a friend. Because our space is small and we like to keep a calm environment for the babies, we ask that you limit it to one guest only.

  4. Please ensure that you arrive at least 15 minutes before your appointment for any registrations and baby check up.

  5. Babies should have a min. weight of 4.5kg and max. height of 76cm to undergo hydrotherapy. It is safe to schedule your first visit after the remaining umbilical cord is gone.

  6. Min. 3 days prior booking required. Bookings subject to availability. Rescheduling must be made at least 1 day prior to original booking.

  7. The treatment is not suitable for babies who have been vaccinated 3 days prior to treatment, and babies who are not in good health.

  8. Always follow your baby's cue.

  9. We encourage parents to start bringing your baby as young as possible to familiarize with the programme

  10. If you have registered for Infant Massage class, please bring a small pillow and a blanket to put your baby on. If your baby has sensitive skin, you may bring your own towel too.

Frequently Asked Questions :)

Do I have to get in the water??? What do I wear??? (We received this question a lot! :P)

Get in the water? Oh no no no! :) All you need to do is come dressed for comfort as you will be leaning over a tub playing with your water baby and sitting on the mat while giving your baby a massage. Come as you are!

What do I need to bring to my appointment?

Your baby and his basic need such as bottles and diapers... And that’s it! We provide towels and swim diapers. Your baby may be very hungry before, during or near the end of the session. Please plan for this whether you are nursing or using bottles. We have a bottle warmer for your convenience. A change of clothe is optional.

For infant massage class, parents will need to bring a small pillow and a blanket to put your baby on :) You may also bring their favourite toy if necessary.

How long does each session last?

Swimming session will be 20-30 minute. If you count registration and neck rub relaxation for mummies after your baby swim session, let’s make it approximately 45minutes-1 hour.

IAIM Infant massage class usually takes 1 hour.

Can I bring a guest?

Yes! We encourage you to bring your spouse, a family member, or a friend. Because our space is small and we like to keep a calm environment for the babies, we ask that you limit it to one guest only.

How many babies are in one communal tub at a time?

We limit our big communal tub to 3-4 babies. This allows us to maintain a serene environment for the babies and gives the parents an intimate setting to share tips, tricks and tribulations.

What if my baby wakes up sick on the day of our swim/massage session?

We want you AND your baby to be well during a visit. Our cancellation policy is 24 hour in advance, however we understand that babies (or mommies) may wake up under the weather. Don’t worry! Give us a call or send us a text letting us know as soon as possible.

How often do you recommend attending?

We want to see your baby once per week, as soon as the umbilical cord has fallen off. If you have been bringing your baby on a regular basis, you will be able to successfully stay in the program until your baby is 8-9 months. To gain the full benefits of brain, physical and emotional development, it is very important that you routinely attend.

I have a question that isn’t addressed here. Where can I find additional information?
Send us your question through Private Message us in Facebook ("Little Penyu"). Please allow 2-3 woking days for us to get back to you.
