Baby Swimming

At birth, the baby’s brain has little information about how to move on the floor because he has never had that experience. However, the baby already has seven months of information about how it feels to move in an aqueous environment. In this environment, the sensory areas in the brain is stimulated, giving ways to develop their vision, hearing, feeling, taste and smell sensation. If newborns don't use their natural ability sooner, the skill may slowly be forgotten. For this reason, it is very important that they are given the opportunity to swim from the very first day of life or as soon as possible. Providing an opportunity for baby to move in the water is also an ideal way to develop not only a stronger body, but a better brain. By introducing children to water at a very young age, it will not only builds their strength, develop coordination and enhance their well-being but it also help your baby to boost their confidence and helps to prevent a fear of water developing later. Our pool varies from introductory tub for babies 0 month - 6 months old and a big pool for babies age 6 months - 3 years old. A flotation device will support an infant of any weight safely and comfortably in water. It fits loosely around the neck and supports the baby's head by the chin and the occipital bones at the base of the skull. This flotation device is light yet able to support up to 25kg. It's lightness allows the baby complete unhindered movement, providing him a comfortable floating experience. During the swimming session, it is mandatory for parents to be near your baby along side with our staff.

Although most of our baby ‘penyu’ love floating and swimming for the first time, it may take a time or two for some babies to become adjusted. Just like swim lessons, it’s not all acquired in one session. Keep coming! We encourage weekly visits to maintain routine for your baby and allow for them to gain the full long-term benefits this program has to offer.

We recommend a once a week swimming session for better result. Please be mindful when making your appointment that you choose a time when your baby has been well fed and napped.  For babies younger than 6 months, please make sure not to feed them anything 30 minutes prior to their appointment in order to prevent possible regurgitation of milk. For nursing mother, we also provide nursing room for your convenience.
